Step 1: Take two paper towels and thoroughly wet them with clean water. The paper towels should be fully damp but not soaking wet.
Step 2: Lay the two layers of paper towels onto a clean surface. Place the seeds, spaced ½ to 1 inch apart onto one side of the paper towels. Fold the paper towels over the seeds to cover them. One or two folds will be sufficient.
Step 3: Place into a closed container, a tupperware container with a lid or in a ziploc bag works well.
Step 4: Keep seeds warm (70-85 F) and moist until germination which generally takes 1- 4 days.
Step 5: When the seed cracks and the tap root emerges, the seed is ready to be planted. Very carefully move the germinated seed into a well balanced soil. Do not touch the tap root, using tweezers is recommended so as to avoid damage. Place the seed with the taproot facing down approximately ½ inch deep.
Step 6: Once transplanted, place in a well lit area, like a window sill, until sprout emerges. Gradually transition outdoors into full sunlight and let nature work its magic!
